Ceramic wheel bearings are measurably faster than steel, and the gap is documented in independent lab testing. Ceramic bearings are also lighter and completely corrosion-proof. They maintain their performance in wet, salty, and winter conditions far more reliably than steel alternatives, which is a significant advantage for riders who do not want to service their bearings every few weeks. Wheel bearing installation requires care and the correct tools — pressing a bearing in at an angle will damage the races immediately and compromise performance from the first ride. We strongly recommend following the dedicated guides on our Support page, or having a qualified mechanic handle the installation if you have not done bearing work before.
