Racing Chains

The CyclingCeramic chain is a complete innovation to the bicycle industry. Our chains use a unique optimisation treatment and allow you to transfer your energy directly without the need of standard lubricants or other adhesives which reduce friction by up to 35% compared to traditional chains.

Questions ?

What is a ceramic coated chain and is it worth it ?

A ceramic coated chain is a bicycle chain that has been processed through a specialised optimisation treatment — typically involving a wax or ceramic-infused surface application — designed to dramatically reduce the friction generated between chain links, rollers, and the teeth of your chainring and cassette. Unlike a standard factory chain coated in thick preservative grease, a treated chain runs with a thin, low-friction film that transfers your pedalling power more efficiently to the rear wheel.

At CyclingCeramic, every Race Chain is hand-processed in our workshop in France through a proprietary multi-step treatment: deep cleaning, ultrasonic degreasing, and a precision wax application that penetrates into the chain internals. The result is measurable: our Race Chain generates just 3.6W of drivetrain friction loss under standardised test conditions, compared to 6.5W for a standard Shimano chain run with conventional oil — a saving of approximately 3 watts.

Is it worth it? For performance-focused cyclists, triathletes, and anyone who has spent 10 minutes scrubbing black oil off a drivetrain, the answer is yes. The wax treatment keeps the chain and chainstay significantly cleaner than any oil-based alternative, and all CyclingCeramic Race Chains carry a 4-year warranty.

CyclingCeramic Race Chains are available in 10, 11, and 12-speed versions, fully compatible with Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo groupsets. Whether your drivetrain runs Dura-Ace Di2, SRAM Red AXS, or Campagnolo Super Record, there is a CyclingCeramic Race Chain designed to slot directly into your setup without any modification. All versions are delivered in our waxed configuration, ready to install straight from the box.

‘Waxed’ means the chain has already been factory pre-treated with our hot wax process before it leaves our workshop in France. In practice: no need to strip factory grease with a degreaser, no pre-treatment required on your end. You install it and ride. The wax used is the same formulation as our standalone WAX product line, applied by hand and allowed to cure before shipping. It is both a performance upgrade and a genuine time saver.
